While I’m on the subject of Top 10 absolutely must dos I thought I would throw in my two cents (or in this case 10 cents) about my favourite must dos on the Gold Coast. Here goes. By the way these are my Top 10 must dos, you may not necessarily agree with them, but I advise you go and try them!

We all know the Gold Coast is famous for its beach culture and "fun in the sun" attitude. So if you are holidaying on the Gold Coast or a local and want to know some other "fun in the sun" activities that don’t always include sand in your pants…read on to discover the secret to a successful family holiday.

My top 10 absolutely must dos on the Gold Coast.

  1. On ya bike. That’s right folks get on your bike and cruise along the esplanades of our gorgeous beaches. Perfect paths that see cyclists, pedestrians, little people, animals and old people all getting along in a harmonious relaxing fashion. My favourite stretch is from Burleigh up to Nobbys.

  2. Take away fish and chips (best pick, Fishmongers Burleigh). Enjoy the ultimate in outdoor backdrops, the sea and the right time of year a casual whale idling up the coast.

  3. Food glorious food. Try incredible quirky and unique foodie places in Burleigh and up and down the coast. The Paddock; Finders Keepers; Pigs n Pints; Oskars; Hellenika; Bin 12 and Little Truffle.

  4. Horse riding in the Bonogin Valley. A beautiful scenic location for people of all ages wanting to learn to ride.

  5. The beach (my favourites, Burleigh Heads, Greenmount, Rainbow Bay).

  6. Stand up paddle boarding, Tallebudgera estuary. Gorgeous calm estuary perfect for beginners and a relaxed paddle for the whole family.

  7. Currumbin Wild Life Sanctuary. One of the most popular attractions in the South-East. Little kids and big kids can enjoy this day out.

  8. Springbrook. Dominating the Gold Coast's western skyline, Springbrook's cool forests and mountain streams offer views of impressive landscapes, and walks among subtropical rainforests with spectacular waterfalls, cascades and tumbling creeks. Romance, action and adventure. Choose your holiday.

  9. Surf club dinner or lunch (best pick, Currumbin). Great seaside dinning with super views and huge portions of delicious food.

  10. Dreamworld. A hundred worlds in one. If you haven’t been, go, if you think it’s too expensive, its not. This is the happiest place on earth.
