By far one of Queensland’s popular holiday destinations (second to the Gold Coast of course) renowned for its pristine beaches, picturesque natural beauty and warm climate (like the Goldie).

But that’s not all folks, Noosa has a lot more to offer than sunning yourself everyday and I’m going to show you a range of activities and attractions to satisfy all types of visitors.

Here are my top 10 things to do in Noosa.

  1. Little Cove – Having just said there is more to Noosa than sunning yourself everyday, Little Cove is the exception. This stunning little beach is enveloped around the rainforest, perfect escape from the main beach and a great place to relax and watch the waves roll in. I must warm you, there is absolutely no where to park and if you have a tribe of kids, umbrellas and a stroller...good luck (however it is worth the trouble if you make the trek).

  2. RVAC Resort – The perfect holiday resort, so perfect you don’t have to leave, literally you don’t have to leave.  However if you do venture away from the comfort of your amazing three bedroom apartment with rooftop spa, Hastings St and beaches are only five minutes down the road. I stayed for three days and left once, then scurried back to my little sanctuary.

  3. Fish and Chips in Noosa – Finding good nosh is hard so when I stumbled across Noosa Harbour Fish Market on the wharf at Noosa Marina I was bowled over. For a little treat you can do a Ferry Wine ‘n’ Dine. Return ticket for two on the ferry, fish and chips and a bottle of wine. Sunset included!

  4. The Big Pineapple – This is about as iconic as you can get. The Empire State Building equivalent on the Sunshine Coast, it definitely deserves a mention on this list. Queensland’s famous free tourism landmark; its heritage listed and stands at an impressive 16 metres high. The Big Pineapple is host to markets every Saturday, has its very own music festival and of course the plantation itself. Good old family fun!

  5. Noosa Heads Surf Club – Great food (early dinning option if you have kids) and clearly the best view in town. Hasting St is overflowing with places to dine and famous for its cosmopolitan café culture and its fine dining, but for a good old nosh and a big serving, you can’t beat the surf club.

  6. House Boat on the Noosa River - This is fun and a different perspective on water front accommodation. Cruising up and down the Noosa River, fishing, stopping off wherever you like.  No need for a boat licence and very easy to drive.

  7. Surfing – Beginners should definitely try Little Cove early morning while long boarders will find the best breaks at First Point. Experienced surfers should try the bays off the National Park (a bit of a trek but offers long rides) and Tea Tree Bay and Granite Bay provide super surfing in the right conditions.

  8. Teewah Beach – if you’re budding 4WD enthusiast this is the beach for you. Teewah Beach is north of Noosa with the beach highway providing convenient access to Rainbow Beach and Fraser Island. It’s also a much sought-after destination for those seeking bush camping, just make sure your car is 4WD not AWD (a mistake I made).

  9. Hasting St - Get your shopping and food fix with a relaxed, pedestrian-friendly, beachside thoroughfare that is a haven for everyone that visits. Check out the cafes, designer shops and alfresco dining.

  10. Beach Boardwalk - Follow the boardwalk from Noosa Main Beach into Noosa National Park. Gorgeous in the morning for grabbing a coffee and idling up the path or an evening stroll.
