Hurrah! Everyone’s favourite time of year, St Patrick’s Day and the Brisbane Irish Festival is back for 2014. Brisbane City is certainly the place to be this St Patrick’s Day. There is so much happening that will get you into the Irish spirit.

This Year St Patrick’s Day falls on a Monday, which will upset many Leprechauns plans, to be sure, but for others, the specific day doesn’t matter.

It’s about the chance to drink green beer and spend the day claiming Irish heritage.

St Patrick's Day is one of the most popular days of the year, with events being celebrated throughout Australia by the Irish and others celebrating its merry culture. So you can expect the mayhem, often following excessive consumption of Guinness, to be seen on the streets of Brisbane over the next week for St. Patrick's Day 2014.

That's right Brisbane, its time to head out to one of the many Irish-flavoured events and venues that will pepper Brisbane throughout this celebration of Irishness.

There is the official St Patrick’s Day Parade.  The annual parade is a showcase of Irish Culture and the Irish community’s contribution in Queensland. For the past 20 years, the parade has featured a colourful convoy of floats, providing free entertainment for the whole family.

There will be loads going on all round the city, but be sure to check out Gilhooley’s, The Irish Club and Mick O’Malley’s for more information, and of course there will be a number of performances through the weekend in the Queens St Mall.

• Saturday 15th March: St Patricks Day Parade kicks off in Brisbane, 10.30am.
• Monday 17th March: Celtic Fusion (Band) at 12pm, Walker Irish Dance at 1pm and QIA Dancers at 2pm.

The Brisbane Irish Festival is a must for everyone, Irish or not! Celebrating Irish culture and heritage (not just the Guinness). You’ll see a range of festivities with a jammed packed program of events taking place across the city.

We’re all Irish on St Patrick’s Day!
