Low ‘n’ Slow Burleigh Barbeque Championship is a feast for meat lovers everywhere 30-31 Jul

Brrr! You don't need a weather app to tell you there's a chill in the air. But I have just the event to warm you up, the Burleigh BBQ Championship.

This is one hell of a weekend, Burleigh ramps it up and turns on an awesome weekend where you’ll see competitors BBQ meat over 21 mouth-watering hours, before serving their well-cooked dishes to a panel of judges. 

Contestants have 21 hours to turn up, prepare and cook overnight in the open air on wood fuelled fires with five different meats. Not just about the meat, there is awesome local entertainment, mouth-watering street food whilst enjoying a beer or two with one of the best views on the Gold Coast.

Friday 29th

Kicking the party off on Friday is the Burleigh Brewing Brew Jam, the welcome night for the Low and Slow BBQ Championship teams where you can grab a great brew and discuss all things BBQ. While the boys talk beer, the BBQ girls will indulge in the sunset surrounds of Skypoint Level 77 with sunset drinks, great company and smokin’ conversation.

Saturday 30th

From 9.00am Saturday, the two-day BBQ Championships kicks off in Ed Hardy Park with 50 teams battling it out to see whose cuisine reigns supreme (sorry guys, you can’t sample the fruits of their labours – bummer). But you can bring along your picnic blanket, and your appetite, and let local musicians entertain you as you dig into some street food from JR’s Smokehouse, That BBQ Joint, and Busters plus Mr America Hot Dogs, Nippers Sausage sizzle, and treats for the kids. 

Sunday 31st

Rounding out the weekend are The Art and Craft Markets along Burleigh Beachfront and the finale of the BBQ championships with winner, announced at 3pm, guaranteed to be a great weekend for people of all ages. It's FREE entry.
