Happy New Year and welcome to 2016. 2015 proved to be full of interesting, challenging and exciting events. We hope the momentum continues in 2016 with Breeze Events continuing to support new and existing clients by bringing innovative and fresh ideas to all events.

In 2015 our creativity was stretched giving every client one step above to what we did in previous years and the same is said for 2016 - we have to top last year’s events with the same budget, boundaries and with a growing and changing Breeze Events team.

What was on trend in 2015?

  • Styling trends moved away from heavily-styled event themes to simple, sophisticated and subtle tones.
  • With the ever increasing role technology plays in the way events are brought to life in 2015 we departed from 2D cut-out props and conventional sit down dinners in favour of interactive, dynamic and content-based theming.
  • Out with the gold and in with metallic. Last year we saw the classic gold and silver being joined by copper, pewter and bronze as the new metallic.
  • Blue was the new black. From dark indigo to classic navy – dark blue was our favourite colour last season.

Hangover tips for the night before

If you had a big New Year’s Eve and you’re still getting over the night before. Here are three simple hangover remedies to get you up and ready for 2016…or at least off the sofa for the day

  • H2O. It’s a must and will cure your hangover. Alcohol causes dehydration. Drink it!
  • Remember when your mum gave you toast as a kid when you couldn't keep anything down? This is good advice for adults who've spent the night hugging the porcelain throne too. While no food can halt the roller coaster in your stomach, carbs can help bring your blood sugar levels back up – stay away from Mc Donalds and KFC, it’s a very, very short term fix.
  • What you eat after drinking doesn't matter—it's what you eat before all those vodkas that can help lessen the hangover the next day. Food helps slow the absorption of alcohol and the longer it takes the alcohol to reach your blood stream, the longer it is until you become intoxicated.

I want to wish everyone a great 2016 and a big thank you to all our clients, customers, readers and members for making 2015 a fantastic year in events.
