Basic Party Planning Tips

1. Pick a Date and Time To Have Your Party.

Think about the date in relation to the time needed to send out your invitations and to receive RSVP's.

What time best suits to stage your party. An early start can mean that guests leave at an appropriate time to limit the disturbance of your neighbours.

2. Make A Guest List

It's always good to revise and revisit this list before finalising invitations as sometimes we can forget some of our important guests.

3. Decide on a Party Theme (if any)

If you have decided to have a themed party - do some research and find out the who, where, what and how of the theme to determine how easy it is for your guests to partiipate.

4. Buy, address and send invitations

One of the most important things to do when planning a party. Because without guests there is no party!

5. Plan the food

Decide what type and style of food you'd like to serve at the party. Will it be catered? Will it be based around the theme of your party? Cocktail food? BBQ?

6. Plan for Drinks

Will you supply drinks? BYO? Do you need a drinks service area? Does your party require staffing?

7. Plan the Music

Music is vital for any party. It can set the mood and tone of your party and create an incredible atmosphere!

8. Plan and Buy Decorations (If needed)

If staging a themed party it is important to add a few special touches of theming to your party. If no theme - think about how you will set up the the party location...do chairs need to be put out? tables removed etc?

9. Prepare a Pre Party Checklist

Once you have decided on all the above make your self a checklist to mark off when the tasks have been completed.

And remember "If You Fail To Plan - You Plan to Fail".......
